You will often notice people from different groups or communities fighting on social media over some issues they don’t even know about which is a big concern in India. It leads to physical confrontation sometimes which is worrisome.
But what causes this?
Why is there so much hate between different groups or communities?
Below are some issues that we believe are causing rifts between groups or communities:
Lacking Sensibility
People in the country are not acting sensibly; they believe everything they see on social media, start commenting without knowing the facts, and get into heated arguments that sometimes escalate to physical fights. They are so impatient to comment that they don’t even want to check whether that’s true or not. Sometimes, you may have seen fake news being circulated on social media, and people are fighting over that.
Also, even if someone has said something bad about a particular group or community, that’s his individual thought, not the whole community he/she belongs to. But, people from other groups or communities start targeting the whole community, whereas only that person should be criticised. It mostly happens between states, people or religious groups or different communities.
So we need to be sensible and responsible whatever we write, how we see or perceive things on social media.
Fake News
There are some who love to spread fake news to get engagement on their posts or to fulfill their personal agenda. We don’t have to get into such traps; need to identify such accounts on social media and mark them as bad or hateful or whatever option is to help social media companies to identify and block them.
Politics
Apparently, some politicians make hateful comments for their vote banks and win the elections. We don’t need to react emotionally and negatively by listening to such politicians while using our brains to understand those said words sensibly.
Lack of Respect
Different groups or communities need to respect each other’s beliefs, customs, culture, language, and other things. If we don’t, enmity is bound to happen.
Lack of Social Responsibility
Yes, there are some people who make bad or hateful comments towards other groups/communities, but there are some people too who enjoy such things and provoke others to do the same instead of calming things down. It’s everyone’s responsibility to maintain a good environment in their society or locality and to avoid doing such things.
