“Be financially independent.”
Nowadays, we hear this phrase quite often, especially directed toward women. A large percentage of women still live as homemakers and are not financially employed, which makes them dependent on their father’s or husband’s income for many aspects of life. Because of this dependence, many women are looked down upon, lack access to things they desire, and do not have full control over their own lives.
This is why we are witnessing a quiet revolution in the country, and we would love to see a day when all women are financially independent. When both men and women in a family are financially independent, they experience more freedom, greater personal growth, and reduced financial pressure.
However, there is an important issue associated with the idea of financial independence that is rarely discussed – how it is perceived.
This includes how men perceive women’s growing stature in society and their financial independence, as well as how women perceive their own independence.
Men should not view women’s financial independence as a threat. Instead, they should respect it and feel proud of it. At the same time, women should avoid developing feelings of arrogance and instead remain supportive and respectful toward their partners.
In other words, both men and women should be responsible toward each other and their families. Financial independence itself is not a negative concept. However, when misunderstood, it can sometimes lead to arrogance (feeling superior to one’s partner) or selfishness (thinking only about oneself). This applies to all genders. Such attitudes are unhealthy for relationships and can create deeper divisions in society.
On the other hand, when financial independence is combined with responsibility, it fosters love, care, and mutual support. People begin to view relationships and family life more positively and compassionately.
So the message is simple: be financially independent, but also be responsible. This balance is essential for building a better and more harmonious society.
Just imagine a family where everyone, both men and women, is financially independent and responsible. Such families would be happier, stronger, and more prosperous.
